The Thermage is a non-surgical face lift procedure that reduces the signs of aging skin, giving you a more youthful appearance. Also called ThermaCool, the Thermage procedure is performed with a technology cleared by the US FDA for the treatment of wrinkles on the face and around the eyes.

What is the Thermage procedure?
The Thermage procedure is an advanced way of tightening skin that requires only the touch of a sophisticated treatment tip to your skin. It is performed with an advanced radiofrequency device called ThermaCool and requires no incisions or recovery time.

 

Is it safe?
The Thermage procedure is very safe. Although it is possible that skin damage can occur, this advanced treatment has been studied carefully in hundreds of patients with minimal reports of lasting adverse events.

 

How long does it take?
The Thermage procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area you are having treated. Additional time may be required for skin preparation prior to the procedure.

 

When will I see results?
In most patients, results appear gradually in 2 to 6 months, although some patients see an earlier response.

 

How long will the effects of the Thermage procedure last?
Recently published studies show that improvements continue for at least 6 months after a single treatment session.That is, the full effect of a single Thermage treatment will not be seen for up to six months after that treatment Other studies show that thermal collagen changes can last seven to ten years (as long as a surgical facelift), depending on the rate of the aging process in the individual.

 

How many treatments will I need?
A single treatment has produced good results in a significant number of patients. However, Dr. Adrian will assess the number and frequency of treatments required to achieve optimal results for your skin.

 

How long before I can return to my normal activities?
Most people return to their regular activities immediately following the Thermage procedure. Some people experience mild redness (like a sunburn), but it usually disappears quickly. There is no special care needed after treatment, but sunscreen is recommended as a part of good skin care.

 

How does it work?
The top layers of your skin are protected with a cooling spray while radiofrequency energy heats the collagen in the lower layers. This heating action causes deep structures of your skin to tighten immediately. Over time, new collagen grows to further tighten your skin and produce a more youthful appearance.

Laser Photo-facial Rejuvenation  A painless, no downtime procedure in which three different lasers are used to first remove dilated veins or capillaries on the face. They will usually be most noticed around the nose, under the eyes and on the cheeks.

Of course, we can also erase spider veins elsewhere on the body. The second laser is used to lighten or erase brown pigments such as age and liver spots, sun related damage and hormone induced dark areas of the skin. Finally, a third laser is used to stimulate collagen production, thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles. All of this can be done in thirty minutes. Redness will resolve three hours later and you can resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. We use the Versapulse-G with HELP laser system for this procedure.

Laser Tattoo Removal  We offer a painless method of erasing old mistakes. Using multiple wavelength lasers under local anesthesia, we can remove most tattoos, even multicolored ones, without unsightly scarring. The success of the removal is dependant on the type and color of your skin and the colors in your tattoo. The darker the color of the tattoo and the lighter the skin, the easier it is to remove. Most tattoos can, however be treated. Our physicians must examine you to give you the individualized treatment plan and probable results. You can resume regular activities as soon as the procedure is over.

Laser Hair Reduction using the Lightsheer Laser, unwanted hair can be safely and effectively reduced. Imagine not having to shave your legs, underarms or bikini lines everyday. Although there is no procedure that can honestly be called "permanent hair removal," this comes the closest. The FDA calls our procedure "Permanent Hair Reduction." That is because after a relatively few treatments, there should be little or no hair re-growth for years. We expect you will live longer than a few years, so we don't promote it as "permanent" and don't think others should either. Again, this is a no down time procedure. The length of the procedure, of course depends on the location and size of the area treated. Underarms can be done in 20 minutes or less. Full legs and backs can take up to 2 hours. Lips, chins, uni-brows take relatively less time. Best results occur with dark hair and light skin. Darker skin can effectively be treated but true blondes cannot.

 

Microdermabrasion, also known as the "lunchtime peel" is an effective, inexpensive no downtime procedure which gently and progressively exfoliates the outer layer of your skin leaving it soft and beautiful. It is used to slowly remove unwanted pigments, soften facial acne scarring, and can in fact, reduce acne. It is our most asked for procedure because it is quick, painless, safe and effective.
 

Glycolic Peels are a safe and effective method to exfoliate older dead skin and expose the young fresh skin underneath. This will lighten age spots, decrease fine lines, and can be a very effective means by which to treat acne. There is no down time and you can resume regular activities immediately. You will be more susceptible to sunlight immediately after a peel so sunscreen is mandatory and avoidance of the sun for the rest of the day is recommended. We also have deeper peels which must be prescribed by our doctors.

Botox is newly approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. Botox is used to soften or eliminate dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by the use of the underlying musculature. Examples of dynamic lines are crow's feet around the eyes, forehead wrinkles, and scowl lines. Botox can eliminate that "always angry" look or that "tired" appearance caused by dynamic wrinkles. Botox is also used to reduce underarm sweating, to treat migraine headaches, to stop eye twitching, and to tighten a double chin.
